Dar a Luz Birth & Health Center has an excellent opportunity open for a full-time Certified Nurse-Midwife to join our team at our nonprofit freestanding birth center. We provide full-scope services for management of low to moderate risk pregnancy, natural birth at the center, hospital transfers for women who risk out, postpartum and lactation support, newborn follow-up for the first 28 days and gynecologic care in collaboration with the University of New Mexico Family Practice team. We build strong relationships within this community and there are many opportunities to use individual talents to help grow the vision of the birth center.
The selected midwife would cover 3 to 4 days per week made up of a combination of clinic, 1st and 2nd call and 2 call weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for a total of 26 days coverage in a 6 week period. Salary is competitive for birth centers and nonprofit organizations. Health, dental, vision, life and malpractice insurance are paid. There is no tail. We offer a 403b retirement plan. Appropriate midwifery licenses and certifications are required including NRP, BLS and water birth. Experience in birth center care or a passion to support normal physiologic birth are preferred. Very strong new graduates with past L&D experience and birth center experience in midwifery school will be considered.
