Registered Nurse

More details about this occupation opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. The R.N. provides general medical care and treatment to clinic patients under the direction of a physician
II. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain ! and possess a State Registered Nursing license.
2. Prepares patient for physical exam; obtain all vital signs; conduct testing, i.e. electrocardiograms, Holter and Event monitors, BP, Oxygen Saturations and document the patient medical record within prescribed guidelines and instructions by the physician.
3. Responds to patient calls and assist patient/family with medication questions, general medical questions and report test results.
4. Assists physician with patient sedation.
5. Conducts medical record quality assurance audits to verify accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.
6. Develops and runs offsite clinics as needed. Monitors patient INR results and maintains regular contact with patient/family to ensure compliance.
7. Coordinates back office functions, as needed, including supervision of medical assistants and medical supply ordering.
8. Acts as back-up for physician on night call to answer patient questions.
9. Schedules all h! ospital procedures, e.g., diagnostic cardiac catheterizations.! This includes obtaining authorization and following up with patient/family to confirm appointment and provide pre-procedure instructions.
10. Conducts office pacemaker checks under the direct supervisor of the physician.
11. Maintains a cooperative relationship with the office staff.
12. Maintains a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
13. Maintains the care and upkeep of department equipment and supplies.
14. Maintains patient confidentiality.
15. Recognizes ethical, legal and professional issues inherent in providing care to patients.
16. Communicates effectively and courteously with and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families.
17. Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect.
18. Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner recognizing an individualâs religious, ethical, and moral opinion/belief.
19. Uses standards of patient satisfaction as a measure of effectiveness. !
20. Follows universal precautions and OSHA standards.
21. Performs other assigned duties as directed.
III. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
2. Maintain and possess a state RN license.
3. A minimum of five years experience in pediatric cardiology nursing. Office based practice experience preferred.
4. Must maintain CPR certification.
5. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
6. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
IV. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. An individual must possess a current/valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state that they are providing services.
2. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
3. Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
4. Complete Corporate Office require! ments on the completion of the Compliance Program.
V. SUPERVIS! ORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Position reports to Practice Manager/Administrator and Site Physician.
