Position Summary:
The UNM Cancer Center (UNMCC) is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in the state. One of just 67 NCI-designated cancer centers nationwide, the UNM Cancer Center is recognized for its scientific excellence, contributions to cancer research and delivery of medical advances to patients and their families. Annual federal and private funding of over $65 million supports the UNM Cancer Center's research programs. The UNM Cancer Center treats more than 65 percent of the adults and virtually all of the children in New Mexico affected by cancer, from every county in the state. It is home to New Mexico's lar! gest team of board-certified oncology physicians and research ! scientists, representing every cancer specialty and hailing from prestigious institutions such as MD Anderson, Johns Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic. The UNMCC is seeking a Quality Programs Manager. The manager will be responsible for the organization, direction, management, and coordination of the programs related to Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI) in a health care environment. Must develop and implement program evaluations on all aspect of CQI throughout the Cancer Center. The position will be required to develop cooperative relationsh! ips with outside agencies to pursue goals related to quality. The manager will provide feedback and recommendations on adherence to quality standards; compile statistical data; and write reports on quality management findings.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR
Master's degree; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of t! he regulations and guidelines from The Joint commission, Commission on ! Cancer, Quality Oncology Practice Initiatives, American College of Radiology, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer
Must have a thorough knowledge of what Continuous Quality Improvement means and how to measure improvement
Licensed Registered Nurse and/or certification as a mid-level provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
