Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Cardiology faculty, the Nurse Practitioner will coordinate day-to-day in-patient care activities and closely interface with our specialty services managing heart failure, acute coronary syndromes and electrophysiologic issues. Individual will have direct involvement with general cardiology patient care including his/her own clinic panel. Individual will ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, regulation and standards.
Individual will coordinate services with other patient care units, as appropriate and provide direct patient evaluation and consultation. Individual will also manage ! patient calls, call backs, screening clinic appointments, sche! duling, ordering and follow-up of labs and other diagnostic tests.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; Eligible for New Mexico certification as a Physician's Assistant
OR
State of New Mexico Certified Nurse Practitioner or certification pending, as documented by temporary certificate. No previous work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Prior cardiovascular medical or surgical ICU experience
2) Prior in-and out-patient cardiology experience
3) Prior experience specifically with patients with coronary artery ! disease and heart failure
4) Interest/participation in Quality Assurance/Outcomes
