Post by Jobing - Charge Nurseâ€" Behavioral Health Location: Sandoval Regional Medical Center Job Code: 306 # of Openings: 2 Description Charge Nurseâ€" Behav! ioral Health Promote and restore patients' or clients mental health in a safe and therapeutic environment through direct nursing care; create psychiatric care plans and wrap around services within a medical model; and work under the general nursing process while using independent judgment to assign nurses, technicians and nursing care to assigned patients. Designate shift and schedule assignments, call in staff, send staff home and monitor attendance. Provide clinical leadership for nursing and technician staff. Ensure adequate staff to meet patient census.
Supervise staff and patient care delivery on designated shift, and serve as a clinical resource for staff. Maintain a hopeful and positive attitude in problemâ€"solving and coping, while promoting and maintaining a harmonious and positive relationship with the patients disabilities associated with mental illness. Serve as a role model to promote the SRMC Values, a positive work environment and efficient, quality! patient care. Ensure adherence to Hospital and departmental p! olicies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements Education: Nursing program (nationally accredited) graduate Work Experience: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in State of New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by State of New Mexico RN MATRIX â€" Complete and maintain unit/clinic based required certifications and competencies as listed in the department expectations/and or the unit/clinic education matrix Two (2) years specialty area experience Preferred Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing, or obtain by 2015 Nationally certified in area of specialty, within two years of date of hire Bilingual English/Spanish Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities CPI Training Professional Assault Response Training (PART) Physiological Knowledge Administering Medication Infection Control Health Promotion and Maintenance Nursing Skills Clinical Skills Medical Teamwork Bed! side Manner Multiâ€"tasking Listening Verbal Communication
