MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-
 Associates of Science degree in Nursing.
 Cu! rrent New Mexico licensure to practice as a registered nurse.
 Two (2) years experience in older adult care in either acute care or long term care settings supervising nursing assistants.
 Documented experience or education with phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
 Documented experience or education with electrocardiography rhythm identification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-
 Two (2) years community college/post-secondary teaching experience.
 Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
 Experience in telemetry, ICU, emergency room or ACLS certified
 Demonstrated commitment to professional development in nursing and teaching.
 Knowledge of innovative, creative teaching and learning methodologies for post-secondary students.
 Experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs and delivery.
 Experience in developing curriculum, measuring student learning outcome! s, evaluating course efficacy, and assessing and improving stu! dent learning.
 Endorsement of the teaching philosophy of DACC which supports a goal of success for all students through active learning experiences and strong faculty involvement.
 Demonstrated experience teaching and relating to students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with students, colleagues, staff, supervisors, and the community.
 Bilingual competence in Spanish and English will be considered an asset.
Examples of Duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES-
 Assist Program Director to develop a Master Plan of Clinical Education to ensure that students have a well-rounded clinical education in all courses including nursing assistant, phlebotomy, and electrocardiography technician.
 Provide didactic, lab, clinical instruction as assigned by the Program Director.
 Develop and coordinate cooperative education or clinical work sites and stud! ent placement.
 Assist in the design of clinical competency criteria and clinical evaluation processes.
 Maintain lab cleanliness, and organization. Assist with ordering and stocking supplies.
 Review, collect clinical documentation, log into spreadsheet, and provide to clinical sites.
 Maintain on-going communications with clinical affiliates and clinical instructors.
 Handle any student and/or clinical site issues in a timely and professional manner.
 Prepare and teach the equivalent of 28-30 credit hours annually in the health care assistant program.
 Teaching assignment may include day, evenings, weekends, and/or multiple campus locations.
 Develop, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with the department faculty and director or chair. May develop and teach online courses.
 Instruct, support, advise and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with DACC policy and procedures. Participate in and serv! e on department, division, and college committees, program advisory cou! ncils, task forces and working groups.
 Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities.
 Maintain office hours as mandated by division and college policy. Function as advisor to students, both individually and as assigned to student clubs and groups.
 Assist with the New Mexico nursing assistant certification examinations.
 Perform other related duties as assigned.
