BRIDGES is seeking one (1) Summer Youth Engagement Specialist III to serve as a minimum-time AmeriCorps Member from June 19, 2023 to August 10, 2023. This member will serve a required minimum of 305 total service hours, averaging 38+ hours per week. The member will assist the YAC Learning & Facilitation Manager in their development of the BRIDGES InterCORE team. InterCORE is an intentional & intergenerational team of facilitators within the BRIDGES Youth Action Center. InterCORE team members are experts in youth & adult equity because they have been a part of authentic youth & adult partnerships. InterCORE designs, strengthens, & facilitates Youth Action Center trainings and curricula in order to center youth voice in all places in our community where decisions are made that affect youth. Benefits include: Receive a living allowance of $2,500, paid in five bi-weekly payments. Qualify for a Segal Education Award up to $1,374.60 upon successful completion of service. Trained in navigating and leading experiential experiences through diverse virtual platforms. Strengthen public speaking and communication skills while serving on a diverse team. Participate in research and training in local social justice issues and youth development.

Member Duties : 1. Assist the Learning & Facilitation Manager with developing & co-facilitating public speaking training for participants. 2. Co-facilitate trainings virtually and/or in-person as you are available with other members of the InterCORE team. a. This includes prep & debrief sessions before and after trainings with other members of the team. b. Provide planning, facilitation and coordination support for the 2023 Shelby County Youth Council Summer Institute. 3. Support InterCORE’s restructuring process and strategic planning conversations for the YAC. 4. Support the Director of Communications with: a. creating social media plan for Youth Action Center that empowers youth voice within the community. b. launching youth action social media, podcast through InterCORE. 5. Attend daily team meetings and debrief sessions.
