- Prefer RNs with 1 year nursing experience, or candidates with prior EMS or ED Tech Background
***Prefer previous ER Nursing Experience.
State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required. National certification in specialty practice area highly encouraged.

Summary of major job functions Under the direction of the Nursing Director, works with the Department RN Manager and RN Assistant Manager as a part of the management/leadership team to provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes, patient safety, and direction of unit staff in designated service are! a(s). May provide direct patient care
Key job account! ability # 1 Acts as clinical/managerial resource by facilitating the delivery of patient care for a group of patients.
Key job accountability # 2 Acts as clinical resource by facilitating the delivery of patient care for a group of patients. Makes patient care assignments based on patient needs. Proctive planning for staff needs based on surgical volume. Plans staffing requirements for next shift, day and week and corrects noted deficiencies.
Key job accountability # 3 Expedites pro-active and anticipatory triaging of patients to include active communication with nursing supervisor, admitting,OR charge nurse, emergency department and unit secretary in regards to bed availability and assignments as applicable.
Key job accountability # 4 Assures compliance with established department standards, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Facilitates and supports other staff during code red, code blue! , code green emergencies and disasters.
Key job accountability # 5 Effectively assists and communicates with other members of the nursing team and/or other disciplines. Assumes direct patient care responsibility compatible with individual unit needs. Actively participates in problem solving and conflict resolution to maintain team cohesiveness and positive customer relations.
Key job accountability # 6 Role models professional growth and development through participation in educational programs. Attends in-services meetings and workshops and reviews current literature. Participates in ongoing shared governance activities and provides leadership for the implementation of initiatives as recommended by the councils.
Key job accountability # 7 Contributes to planning of the unit budget and directs daily unit activity consistent with productivity and staffing guidelines.
Key job accountability # 8 Supervises all nursing personnel assigned to s! hift. Completing HPP performance evaluation on employees
Quali! fications
Nursing Licensure: Current State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required
Education: ADN required, BSN preferred. BSN required within 5 years or 60 months of hire.
Certifications: Specialty Certification in area of practice preferred.
