Two to three years college level courses/Associate’s Degree/Diploma in Nursing. Current New Mexico Registered Nurse License required or Graduate Nurse Permit required. One to! three years experience in medical setting.
Primary Job Functions
Assesses and documents individual patient needs and patient responses.
- Assists physicians with various procedures and treatments.
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physician.
- Maintains medical supplies, writes orders per physician request, and schedules exams as needed.
- Provides teaching/education according to assessed needs of patients and families.
- Implements/documents patient/family teaching based on the theory and practice of nursing according to the age and understanding of the patient/family.
- Recognizes patient problems/complications, emergencies and intervenes appropriately.
- Participates in Performance Improvement.
- Demonstrates professional, constructive, positive communications in all interactions.
- Demonstrates positive attitude and behavior towards patients, peers, physici! ans, and hospital staff.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services, and workshops.
- Performs other functions as required.
