Mental Health Technician for the Behavioral Health Structured Outpatient Program (SOP).
Diamond Healthcare will also assist the hospital in developing Outpatient Pulmonary Services.
Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital
For many years, Tucumcari has been a popular stop for cross-country travelers on Interstate 40 (formerly U.S. Route 66 in the area). It is the largest city on the highway between Amarillo, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital is an acute care critical access hospital with 25 licensed beds. We offer a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including a 24-hour Emergency Department, home healthcare, a family medicine clinic and a outpatient rehabilitation center. Individuals can also receive skilled or intermediate nursing home care, on a short term basis, in the hospital and remain in Tucumcari close to family and friends.
Responsibilities:
SUMMARY PERFORMANCE DESCRPITION : Provides direct patient care. Assists in clerical duties, maintaining medical records, monitoring patient interactions and traffic flow. Transports patients to and from the Program on a daily basis.
REPORTS TO : Program Director.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree desired. In general 1 yr. equivalent work experience in psychiatric/addictive disease treatment facility.
SPEICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Communication skills; ability to build rapport with patients; positive attitude and commitment to treat patients with dignity and respect; must possess valid State driver’s license and proof of driving record for insurance purposes with the Hospital.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Pleasant indoor environment within the Program and the Hospital. Worker may possibly be subjected to temperature changes and be exposed to adverse environmental conditions when transporting patients. Moderate physical activity. Some hazard potential from possibility of physically acting out behavior of patients and health related communicable diseases.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB :
Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations such as being verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner; must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic; ability to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another; must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions.
